I currently offer timetabled lessons in line with national curriculum standards as part of the regular school day as well holiday programmes and specific packages such as parties, mainly focussing on special needs (although is easily adapted for mainstream children and teenagers etc )
Children today are under a lot of stress: homework; pressure to compete with other children; endless after-school activities; over-scheduling - it all adds up.
Teaching Yoga to children, I've seen how it can help them develop better body awareness, self-discipline, flexibility, concentration and coordination. I've also seen how they can carry these skills beyond class and into their daily routines.
As a fully qualified and insured Community Sports Coach with over a decade of Yoga experience, I am offering sessions specifically designed to benefit children in alongside and in addition to their curricular activities and physical education. The sessions involve lessons and games that children will recognize, adapted using traditional yoga poses, proven to complement and enrich the child's experience of school.
We also cover the traditional core subjects of mathematics, geography, languages, english, numeracy and literacy via yoga in an interesting and innovative approach. I believe this often works better with the children taking in the information in a direct and fun way.
This ground-breaking project has been successfully trialled and delivered over the last few years and mentioned by OFSTED in the schools' end of term results last year.
